Before You Apply — Review Job Posts and Proposals
What it does
- Lists possible warning signs in a job post for you to check.
- Checks for requests to talk or pay outside the platform.
- Checks for upfront fees, paid tests and fee-based selection.
- Checks for requests for too much personal information.
- Flags unpaid-work wording, and hourly rates below or above a set range ($3 and $250 by default; you can change them).
- Looks in the pasted post for phrases that suggest a limited hiring record (for example "no reviews yet"). It does not look up the client's history.
- Gives a fit score from 0 to 100, mostly from how many key words from the job post also appear in your proposal. Generic phrases lower the score.
- Lists missing requirements, wording that reads like a reused template, and overpromising.
- Adds a note and an improvement example to proposal lines that match known phrases. If no line matches, it points you to your longest line to re-read.
- Gives an Apply / Revise / Skip call to help you decide your next step.
What it can't do
- It does not decide that a job is a scam. The warning signs are candidates for your own review.
- It is not legal, contract, hiring, financial or career advice.
- Without a proposal, it cannot give a fit score or proposal feedback; the job post scan still runs.
- The rules and word lists are in English, and it only picks up English words, so it does not work on Japanese job posts or proposals.
Sample (fictional input and output, not a real result)
An excerpt of the English sample included in the download.
Job post input: "Pay is $2 per hour to start." "please contact me directly on WhatsApp" "We are a new client with no reviews yet" and more
Proposal input: "Dear Sir or Madam," "I am the best fit for this job." and more
Call: Skip
Warning-sign candidates: outside contact (whatsapp), fee (registration fee), personal information (copy of your id), low hourly rate ($2), hiring record (no reviews yet, new client)
Fit score: 0 / 100 (key words from the post are missing from the proposal)
Proposal weak points: missing requirements, template-like wording, overpromising
Line note: for "Dear Sir or Madam," it suggests opening with the client's name or the project.
