Equity Valuation — What Does Today's Price Assume?
Don't ask what it's worth
Most valuation write-ups hand you a number and never show you how fragile it is. Move the discount rate by 2 points and terminal growth by 1, and the answer often doubles.
The useful question runs the other way: what does today's price already assume?

What you get
- Four methods at once: discounted cash flow (two-stage growth plus terminal value), dividend discount, residual income (book value plus future excess returns), and peer multiples. Four answers give you a range instead of false precision.
- The market's implied growth: solved by bisection — the growth rate that makes the valuation equal today's price. The question becomes "the market assumes 4.6% a year; can this company do that?"
- Scenarios and sensitivity: optimistic, base and pessimistic, plus a full table of discount rate ±2 points by terminal growth ±1 point.
- How much is terminal value: the share of the valuation that comes from "after year N". Above 80%, the number is a bet on the distant future no matter how precise it looks.
- Year-by-year detail: growth rate, cash flow, discount factor and present value for every year, so you can check the math yourself.

Who it's for
Investors who want to run the numbers themselves, students writing an equity report, and anyone who wants to actually use the formulas from a corporate finance course. Any country, any market.
What it does not do
- No live prices or financials — every number comes from you
- No stock recommendations, no target prices, no price forecasts
- No opinions on companies or industries
How to use
- Download from Capafy — you get a zip file (no need to unzip).
- In Claude, turn on code execution, then upload the zip under Settings → Skills. (Claude Code users: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/.)
- Describe your situation in plain English. Claude asks for the numbers it needs, runs the model, and walks you through the results.
Output and language
Claude explains the results in your language. The Excel workbook and written report are currently labeled in Traditional Chinese; English labels are planned for a future version.
Privacy
Runs locally in your own Claude environment. No external connections, no API keys, and your numbers never leave your machine.
Requirements
A Claude environment that can run Python (e.g. Claude Code, or Claude with code execution enabled). Uses openpyxl; Claude can install it on first run.
Disclaimer
Calculations follow your own inputs and assumptions. The tool never fetches market or financial data and never issues a buy, sell or hold recommendation, nor a target price. Valuations move sharply with assumptions, and past figures don't predict future results. Investing carries risk — decide for yourself, and consult a qualified local professional where appropriate.
