Excel Workbook QA Pro
Excel Workbook QA Pro
Audit Excel workbooks before you trust, send, or deliver them.
Excel Workbook QA Pro performs a non-destructive quality-assurance audit of .xlsx and .xlsm workbooks and returns traceable findings without modifying the original file.
What it checks
The V1 engine runs 38 controls covering:
- workbook integrity and preflight checks;
- hidden sheets, rows, columns and structural risks;
- broken formulas and references;
- possible hard-coded values inside formula series;
- missing or inconsistent formulas;
- external workbook links and data connections;
- circular references detectable statically;
- numbers stored as text;
- duplicate records;
- inconsistent data types;
- unexpected blanks;
- numeric and date outliers;
- Excel data-validation violations;
- formula consistency across similar worksheets;
- suspicious SUM-range omissions;
- workbook calculation and dependency risks.
Evidence-based findings
Each finding includes:
- worksheet and cell/range location;
- severity;
- confidence level;
- evidence type;
- affected cells;
- recommended review action.
The engine distinguishes direct technical evidence from heuristic findings. Pattern-based findings are never presented as certain facts.
Outputs
Each completed audit can generate:
- a concise QA summary;
- an HTML QA report;
- an Excel findings register;
- a machine-readable JSON report.
Safety
- The original workbook is never overwritten or repaired.
- VBA macros are never executed.
- External links and data connections are never refreshed.
- Microsoft Excel is not used to recalculate formulas.
- The tool does not claim to validate the truth of the underlying business data.
Supported files
V1 supports .xlsx and .xlsm.
Password-encrypted, corrupt, unsupported, suspicious, or excessively large workbooks may be rejected or only partially analyzed.
Important limitation
The QA score is a structured risk indicator, not a certification that a workbook is error-free or suitable for every business purpose. Important findings should be reviewed before operational, accounting, financial, legal, or other high-impact decisions.
