Give it a matchup (e.g. "Lakers vs Celtics") and it computes win probability and predicted point margin using real team data. This isn't an AI-guessed number - team-strength data is always pulled from live search, then run through a sports-statistics method that's been tested against a published verification benchmark for accuracy.
What you can ask it
- Win probability: "Who's favored, Lakers or Celtics?"
- Predicted margin: "How many points apart are these two teams?"
- Game context: injury reports, recent form, key factors
The honest parts
- Win probability and predicted point margin are computed from full-season average strength - they don't dynamically adjust for a specific player being out or resting tonight. Injury info only appears as background context in the Key Factors section of the reply, never baked into the numbers themselves - this gets flagged every time it's relevant.
- This is a simplified statistical estimate - it doesn't account for specific player matchups or tactical counters. It's a statistical baseline, not an absolute prediction.
- Early in a season, small sample sizes mean lower confidence - this is reflected honestly in the confidence rating.
- If current-season data isn't available (e.g. during the offseason), you'll be told plainly - never passed off stale data as current.
