Dynamic Video Editing

Dynamic Video Editing

Feeds it raw footage (talking-head clips or silent B-roll) and renders a finished short-form video: punch-in zoom that changes rhythm on every cut, animated captions with numbers and keywords auto-highlighted, a rotating pool of transitions, synthesized whoosh sound effects, and music that auto-ducks under speech. Works with or without subtitles - silent B-roll still cuts on a fixed rhythm instead of sitting static. One Python script, one dependency (ffmpeg), runs fully on your own machine.

What it does

Takes raw footage — talking-head clips or silent B-roll — and renders a finished
short-form video with real editing technique, not just clips stuck together end to end.

Key features

  • Punch-in zoom that follows rhythm — synced to spoken lines when subtitles exist,
    or a fixed rhythmic beat when the footage is silent B-roll. The frame never sits static.
  • Animated captions — pop-in motion, with numbers, percentages, currency, and your
    own keyword list auto-highlighted in an accent color.
  • 8 rotating transitions — no more single repeated fade between every cut.
  • Synthesized whoosh SFX — generated on the fly at every transition, no audio asset needed.
  • Sidechain music ducking — background music automatically drops under dialogue.
  • Brand-agnostic — accent color, keyword list, font, and logo are all CLI arguments.

Requirements

  • Python 3.9+
  • ffmpeg on PATH (the only external dependency)

Quick start

```bash
Merge B-roll clips with dynamic transitions + beat-synced zoom
python scripts/dynamic_edit.py clip1.mp4 clip2.mp4 clip3.mp4 -o out.mp4 --vertical
Talking-head video with subtitles, music, and brand accent color
python scripts/dynamic_edit.py talk.mp4 -o out.mp4
--srt talk.srt --music bgm.mp3 --accent-color FFD166 --keywords "revenue,ROI"
```

Output

A single rendered .mp4 — vertical (9:16) or horizontal (16:9) — ready to post.
