The household is breaking up, and the money is where it gets ugly.

Someone sublet for a month. Someone vacationed and now wants a repricing. Someone insists the wifi should have been split three ways all along. Without a written ledger, move out becomes a fight about memory, and the person who paid the most usually loses.

Roommate Ledger Split settles the books:

  1. Expense history intake. You paste the expense history as a CSV: date, who paid, what it was, the amount, and the agreed split method for each bill.
  2. Split method enforcement. Each bill keeps its agreed method. Fixed costs like wifi are split regardless of who was present. Variable costs are prorated by days present. The skill applies the rules the household actually agreed on.
  3. Formula change detection. Rows where the split method changed mid history for the same bill are flagged as unagreed formula changes. This is where most fights start, and now it is visible.
  4. Balance computation. Per person shares are computed across the whole history, with absence proration and fixed versus variable treatment, and net balances are settled to who owes whom.
  5. Minimal payment plan. The settlement is reduced to the fewest possible transfers, so three people do not each pay each other when one payment settles it.
  6. Sign ready statement. A clean settlement statement is generated: the totals, the disputed items, the payment plan, and a signature block so everyone signs the same numbers.

What makes this different:

It enforces the agreement you had. The skill applies each bill's original split method instead of letting anyone rewrite history at move out.
It catches the rewrite. Mid history formula changes are flagged automatically, which is the dispute most roommates cannot even name.
It minimizes the transfers. The payment plan is computed for the fewest payments, not a tangle of pairwise debts.
It ends with signatures. A settlement everyone signs beats a group chat argument, and this produces the document.

What you get: A roommate settlement script (Python, no installs needed), split method rules for fixed versus variable costs with absence proration, unagreed formula change detection, net balance computation, a minimal payment plan, and a sign ready settlement statement template.
