GEOTrace AI — Generative Search Audit

GEOTrace AI — Generative Search Audit

Audits how your brand actually appears in AI-generated answers and generative search. GEOTrace queries real AI-answer providers, then measures mention rate, recommendation rate, citation rate, and competitor visibility from the evidence gathered — no fabricated results. Delivers a structured report with per-query findings, source domains, visibility gaps, and a prioritized action plan. Metrics are sample observations, not guarantees of ranking, traffic, or revenue.

Know exactly how your brand shows up in AI-generated answers — not a guess, an audit.

GEOTrace AI runs a controlled, evidence-backed audit of how your business appears across generative search and AI-answer experiences — ChatGPT-style assistants, AI overviews, and similar providers. It doesn't estimate or simulate visibility. It queries real providers, records what actually comes back, and reports only what the evidence shows.

What it measures

  • AI Share of Voice — how often your brand is mentioned, recommended, or absent across a balanced query set covering discovery, comparison, recommendation, problem/solution, local, and brand-entity intents.
  • Citation analysis — which domains get cited in AI answers, whether your own domain is one of them, and how concentrated citations are among a handful of recurring sources.
  • Competitor visibility — mention rate and citation rate for up to five competitors, measured against the same query set as your brand.
  • Query-level visibility matrix — a per-query breakdown of exactly where you appear, where you don't, and where a competitor fills the gap instead.
  • Evidence completeness — every metric is reported alongside how complete the underlying evidence actually was, so a thin sample is never dressed up as a confident result.

How it works

  1. Define the audit — normalizes your brand, domain, market, competitors, and service terms into a reproducible, balanced query set.
  2. Collect evidence — queries approved AI-answer and search providers, recording the full answer, citations, provider name, and timestamp for each query. Never fabricates a response, citation, or provider result.
  3. Normalize and score — runs deterministic calculations (not model guesses) for mention rate, recommendation rate, citation rate, competitor comparisons, and source concentration.
  4. Gap analysis — flags high-value queries where competitors appear and you don't, places you're mentioned but not recommended, and recurring third-party sources shaping the answers.
  5. Recommendations — prioritized, evidence-tied actions across entity consistency, content coverage, third-party citations, structured data, and reputation — never a bare promise of ranking or traffic.
  6. Deliverables — an executive summary, methodology and provider disclosure, visibility matrix, competitor comparison, gap analysis, and a 30/60/90-day action plan, plus a machine-readable JSON report for your own dashboards.

What you provide

  • Brand name and website
  • Industry and target market
  • Up to five competitors (or let GEOTrace infer and clearly label candidates)
  • Up to ten priority products/services
  • Optional: a query list, CSV/JSON evidence, or a prior audit to compare against

No passwords, API keys, cookies, or private analytics credentials are ever required.

Product boundary — what this is not

GEOTrace reports what was observed in the providers actually queried, for the sample audited. It does not promise search rankings, guaranteed citations, traffic, conversions, or revenue — and it will tell you plainly when evidence is incomplete rather than paper over the gap.

Data sharing

Audit queries and public business information may be sent to the generative-answer provider, search provider, and page-retrieval service actually used to run the audit. Every provider actually queried is disclosed in the final report — nothing is listed just because it's supported.
