Most viewers decide in the first two or three seconds, and you cannot see your own opening the way a stranger does: you already know what the video is about, so a greeting, a logo or a slow first line feels fine to you.

Hook Teardown looks at the opening the way the feed shows it. It reads the real frames of your video, measures the pauses and the frozen stretches from the file, and gives every second a plain reading: what is on screen, what is heard, and whether it gives a stranger a reason to stay.

What it looks like

A real report from a sample video with a slow opening: six seconds of greeting on one still card. Every second is marked low, medium or high risk with the reason, and the three replacement openings each come with the line to say, the text to put on screen and the first shot.

What the agent reads first: thirteen time-stamped frames from the first six seconds, plus the measured pauses and cuts.

What you send

• The video file (mp4, mov, webm) - best: the reading uses the real frames, captions and audio timing
• Or the script - works before you film; timing is estimated from the words and the report says so
• (optional) the platform, and your opening line as spoken if the video has no captions
