SRT Bilingual Line Swapper

Swap the top and bottom text blocks in bilingual SRT subtitles — quickly, locally, and without language detection.

What it does

Many bilingual subtitle files contain two lines per cue:

Before

Hello, world.
你好,世界。

This Skill reverses their order:

After

你好,世界。
Hello, world.

It works structurally, so it does not need to know which language is English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, or anything else.

Why use it?

Manually reversing hundreds or thousands of subtitle cues is repetitive and error-prone.

SRT Bilingual Line Swapper handles the structure for you while preserving subtitle timing.

  • No translation
  • No language detection
  • No AI guessing
  • Timing stays unchanged
  • UTF-8 and UTF-8 BOM supported
  • Works across languages

Need to process multiple subtitle files?

This free tool swaps bilingual subtitle lines one file at a time.

If you need to process an entire folder, use SRT Batch Toolkit. It does batch processing and reports a result for each file.

Designed to fail safely

The Skill does not guess when subtitle structure is ambiguous.

By default, it expects standard two-line bilingual cues. Consistently structured multi-line subtitles can also be processed when you explicitly specify a fixed split boundary.

Malformed, mixed, or unsupported structures are refused or reported instead of being silently rearranged.

Example requests

  • “Swap the two lines in this bilingual SRT.”
  • “Put the Chinese subtitles above the English subtitles.”
  • “Reverse the top and bottom subtitle blocks.”
  • “Swap this multi-line SRT using splitAfter=2.”

What it does not do

This Skill does not translate subtitles or determine which language each line contains.

It does not provide semantic language recognition, ASS/SSA processing, or legacy text encoding support such as Big5 and Shift-JIS.

It is designed for structural SRT processing with UTF-8 input.

Privacy

Subtitle processing is performed by the packaged local runtime. The Skill does not require a third-party AI service to analyze or translate subtitle content.
