Real Video for Codex

What the buyer needs

• The Codex CLI installed on this machine and signed in with a ChatGPT account (npm install -g @openai/codex, then codex login). A ChatGPT subscription on its own is not enough.
• Python 3.10 through 3.14, and ffmpeg. Whatever Python you already have in that range works.
• macOS (Apple silicon or Intel) or Windows 11 native, 8 GB RAM or more. WSL is not supported.

Where your video goes

Download, frame extraction, transcription and on-screen text recognition are processing on your machine. Codex then reads SUMMARY.md, MANIFEST.txt and the frames, so that text and those images go to OpenAI as part of your conversation and use your ChatGPT plan quota, the same as any file you open in Codex.

• A Codex skill that watches the video for you: it checks the length first, asks for a --from/--to window past 60 minutes, and answers with hh:mm:ss timestamps.

• On-screen text at 1600 px wide frames by default, where text about 18 pixels tall at 1080p reads at 0.96 character match measured through the pipeline.
