What it checks
- Citations with no reference: cited in the text but missing from the reference list or .bib
- References never cited
- Author/year mismatches between in-text citations and the list (APA-style author-year)
- Duplicate references: same key, same DOI or same title
- BibTeX field problems: missing required fields per entry type, impossible years
- IEEE numbering: numbers beyond the list, references not cited, numbering not in first-appearance order
- Unparsed references flagged so nothing hides
