When something happens to a US public company's existing debt — a lender calls the loan, interest steps up to a default rate, a rating downgrade automatically lifts the coupon, or a contingent off-balance-sheet obligation becomes a direct one — the company has to report that on an 8-K under Item 2.04.
8-K Called Debt reads the public EDGAR 8-K feed, keeps only Item 2.04 filings, and returns a called-debt ledger or a per-ticker answer. Every slip links back to the original document on EDGAR.
2.04 is the trip on an obligation that already existed. Signing a new facility is Item 2.03 and is out of scope.
