Your minimum rate shouldn't be a guess

Out of roughly 1,840 working hours a year, finding clients, writing proposals, revisions and invoicing don't get paid. Billable time is often only a little over half. Price it wrong and you'll be fully booked yet still short at year end.

What you get

What you get

  • Floor hourly rate: worked back from your income goal, taxes and insurance, fixed costs and billable hours. Below this, you're subsidizing the client.
  • Three quote levels: floor, target and ideal. When a client pushes back, you stop at target, not at a loss.
  • Earn more without raising prices: what each 5% gain in billable share is worth.
  • Price-change simulation: using your past quotes and win rate, estimate how many projects a price increase would cost you.

Who it's for

Designers, developers, writers, photographers, video editors, consultants and anyone with a side gig. Any country — you enter the tax and insurance rates.

How to use

  1. Download from Capafy — you get a zip file (no need to unzip).
  2. In Claude, turn on code execution, then upload the zip under Settings → Skills. (Claude Code users: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/.)
  3. Describe your situation in plain English. Claude asks for the numbers it needs, runs the model, and walks you through the results.

Output and language

Claude explains the results in your language. The Excel workbook and written report are currently labeled in Traditional Chinese; English labels are planned for a future version.

Privacy

Runs locally in your own Claude environment. No external connections, no API keys, and your numbers never leave your machine.

Requirements

A Claude environment that can run Python (e.g. Claude Code, or Claude with code execution enabled). Uses openpyxl; Claude can install it on first run.

Disclaimer

Tax, insurance and cost figures are your inputs or labeled defaults, not any country's actual rules. For quoting reference only — not tax or legal advice.
