AI Workflow Auditor

Built from auditing AI implementations across dozens of teams — finding where agents break, where prompts drift, where costs balloon, and where humans are still doing work that should be automated. This skill gives you a structured assessment of any AI workflow, with prioritized fixes.

AI Workflow Auditor

Describe your current AI workflow — the tools, the prompts, the handoffs, the human touchpoints — and get back a structured audit with a prioritized list of what to fix first.

What the audit covers

Reliability gaps — where the workflow fails silently, hallucinates outputs that get passed downstream, or requires humans to catch errors that the system should catch itself.

Prompt drift — prompts that made sense when you wrote them but have drifted out of alignment with how the workflow actually runs today. Vague instructions, missing constraints, outputs that vary too much run-to-run.

Cost leaks — unnecessary token usage, redundant steps, calls that could be batched, models being used for tasks that cheaper models handle equally well.

Automation gaps — steps still being done manually that follow a pattern consistent enough to automate. Copy-paste between tools. Human routing of outputs to the next step. Formatting fixes that happen every single time.

Integration fragility — handoffs between tools that depend on exact formatting, rate limits that aren't handled, no fallback when an upstream step fails.

How to use it

Describe your workflow in plain language. You don't need to be technical. Include:

  • What triggers the workflow
  • What each step does and what tool handles it
  • Where humans are involved and why
  • What the output looks like and where it goes
  • What breaks most often

The more specific you are, the more useful the audit. "We use GPT to write emails" is too vague. "We paste a CRM note into a prompt, it generates a follow-up email, a human reads it and either sends as-is or edits it, then pastes the final version back into the CRM" is workable.

Example output structure

Workflow summary: [Brief restatement of what you described]

Reliability issues (fix first):

  1. [Issue] — [Why it matters] — [Specific fix]

Prompt improvements:

  1. [Current problem] — [Suggested change]

Cost/speed wins:

  1. [Leak or bottleneck] — [How to address it]

Automation opportunities:

  1. [Manual step] — [What automating it would look like]

Overall assessment: [1-2 sentences on the workflow's biggest leverage point]
