KDP Helper

Self-publishing on Amazon KDP looks simple until you are drowning in trim sizes, keyword slots, and royalty math — most first-timers learn by making expensive mistakes that delay launch by months. KDP Helper is an AI skill that walks you through self-publishing on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, step by step. It includes a complete manuscript formatting checklist for ebooks (styles-based TOC, image specs, front/back matter order, Kindle Previewer validation) and paperbacks (trim sizes, gutter margins, bleed, wraparound covers, physical proof), a category and keyword research workflow (competitor category scoring, niche-stacking, Amazon autocomplete validation, all 7 keyword slots), and royalty math worked through with real numbers — the 70% vs 35% tiers, delivery-cost traps, paperback printing-cost arithmetic, and launch pricing strategy including KDP Select trade-offs. Ends with an upload-day checklist and an honest launch playbook with realistic expectations for new publishers.
