KDP Kids Book Planner

Turn one idea into a complete draft package for a children's book—with page-by-page stories, consistent character descriptions, AI illustration prompts, cover copy, and an Amazon KDP listing draft.

Text-based toolkit. You create the images and book files using your preferred tools; this Agent provides the content and instructions to help you build them.

How It Works

  1. Describe your idea: Tell the Agent your topic, target age, book type, and preferred page count.
  2. Receive your book package: Get a structured draft with story text, character descriptions, illustration prompts, cover copy, layout guidance, and listing content.
  3. Create and publish: Use the generated materials in your preferred image generator, design software, and Amazon KDP publishing workflow.

If you leave out details, the Agent uses reasonable defaults and identifies its assumptions.

Example request

Create a 24-page moral storybook about honesty for children ages 3–6, with an 8.5 × 8.5-inch trim size.

What You Get

Section What's Included
Concept Evaluation Book hook, target audience, niche angle, three potential risks, and a Go / Tweak / Swap recommendation
Page-by-Page Story Age-appropriate draft text with a clear narrative, engaging language, and a gentle moral demonstrated through actions
Character Bible Reusable character descriptions, visual style instructions, and negative prompts to support consistency
Illustration Prompts Individual image-generation prompts for each page, incorporating the relevant character descriptions
Cover Content Front-cover illustration prompt and back-cover blurb
Layout Guide Suggested trim size, margins, typography, and export considerations
KDP Listing Draft Five title ideas, a subtitle, seven keyword phrases, category suggestions, and a product description
Publishing Checklist Review steps, AI-content disclosure reminders, image checks, and proof-copy recommendations

The output is a structured draft package that you can review, edit, and develop into a finished book.

Sample Output

Story excerpt: Pages 4–6 of a 24-page honesty story

Page Story Text
4 SWISH went her tail. CRASH went the pot!
5 The meadow went very quiet. Blue pieces lay in the grass. Wobble, wobble, went her tummy.
6 "Nobody saw," Tilli whispered. She pushed the pieces behind a bush. Wobble, wobble, went her tummy.

Example character description

A small young Indian palm squirrel with golden-brown fur,
three thin cream stripes down her back, big round dark-brown
eyes, a pale cream belly, and a long bushy tail with a gentle curl.
Wearing a tiny mustard-yellow cotton vest with one green button.
Soft watercolor children's book illustration style, thick warm
outlines, gentle expressions, consistent proportions and colors.

This is a short excerpt, not a complete book. A full request generates the planned pages in structured sections.

What You Need to Do Yourself

  • Generate and inspect illustrations using your preferred image-generation tool.
  • Design the book interior and cover in software such as Canva, Kindle Create, Affinity Publisher, or Adobe InDesign.
  • Verify trim size, bleed, margins, image resolution, fonts, and export settings.
  • Check current Amazon KDP requirements, categories, and keyword rules before publishing.
  • Answer Amazon KDP's AI-content disclosure questions truthfully and maintain an appropriate record of your workflow.
  • Review every page and illustration, then order a proof copy when appropriate.

What This Agent Does Not Do

  • It does not directly generate or return finished illustrations, PDFs, EPUBs, or print-ready cover files.
  • It does not upload or publish books to Amazon KDP.
  • It does not browse Amazon or verify live keyword demand.
  • It does not guarantee sales, rankings, royalties, or publishing approval.
  • It does not guarantee that generated illustrations will maintain perfect character consistency.
  • Its publishing guidance is general assistance, not live verification of current KDP policies.

External tools may be required. Image generation, page design, file export, and publishing are completed separately by you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the output ready to publish?

No. It is a structured draft. You must review the writing, create and check the illustrations, design the pages, verify publishing requirements, and prepare the final files.

Will the characters look identical on every page?

Reusable character descriptions and visual instructions can help maintain consistency, but image-generation tools may introduce differences. Inspect each image and regenerate it when necessary.

Can I create a series of books?

Yes. Reuse the same character bible, visual style instructions, and story-world details when creating additional books in a series.

Can I use this for coloring books?

Yes. The Agent can create page concepts and line-art prompts. You will still need to generate, inspect, and assemble the actual coloring pages.

Does it copy existing books or characters?

The Agent is designed to develop original stories and characters and avoid deliberately copying existing works or imitating living artists' styles. You should still review the output for accidental similarities and rights issues.

Why might a long book arrive in multiple parts?

Longer books may be delivered in sections to keep the output organized and detailed. If a response ends before the package is complete, ask the Agent to continue from the last completed section.
