How it works

Affiliate Deal Post Compliance Checker reads a draft deal post (text plus links) for a retail affiliate program such as Amazon Associates or Coupang Partners and runs a seven-item checklist before you publish. Each item gets PASS / FIX / NEEDS_INFO and a ready-to-paste rewrite line. Program-specific rules come only from policy text you paste or pages the agent fetches; otherwise they are marked "not re-verified".

Phase 1 — Collect. Program, audience country, policy source, the draft, links, posting channel, and what you can prove about price, coupon and stock.

Phase 2 — Seven checks. Affiliate disclosure (clear, near the link), price / discount / "lowest price" claims, unverified or expired deal claims, attribution-window statements, prohibited sharing channels, generic placeholder titles, urgency and scarcity claims. Unknown is NEEDS_INFO, never assumed fine.

Phase 3 — Overall result. FIX / NEEDS_INFO / PASS, plus the single most likely complaint reason and a locale note.

Phase 4 — Revised draft. Applies only the rewrites: disclosure placed, claims softened, placeholders marked. No new claims are invented. Not legal advice; disclosure rules differ by country and no specific law's text is asserted without a fetched source.

Sample output

Real, unedited output from running this Skill on a sample problem:

> **Not legal advice.** This is a checklist review against the program rules you supplied and
> general disclosure norms, not legal advice and not a statement from the affiliate program or any
> regulator. The program alone decides account standing. Disclosure and advertising law differs by
> country. An all-PASS result is **not** a guarantee of approval or compliance.

Program policy checked from user-supplied text.

## Result

**Overall: FIX** (items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Most likely complaint or program review trigger: the post is meant for a private messaging group and an email newsletter, and the supplied program text says links "may not be sent by email or posted in private messaging groups" (item 5). The stated 24-hour and "finish the order next week" attribution claims (item 4) would compound it.

Locale: audience country stated as Canada; local disclosure law was not assessed, check the rules for your audience's country.

## Checklist

| # | Check | Status | Basis | Reason (quoting the draft) | Suggested rewrite line |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Affiliate disclosure | FIX | Program text (adjacent, plain words, "may earn from qualifying purchases") | The only wording is "Thanks for supporting me! #deals #sale #ad" at the bottom, inside a hashtag pile, away from both links; it never says you may earn from purchases. Two links are present (the first and "Item 88213"), so each needs a disclosure next to it. | "As a NorthPeak Mart Partner, I may earn from qualifying purchases made through this link." (place directly before or after each link or link cluster) |
| 2 | Price / discount / "lowest price" claims | FIX | Program text (price only if checked within 24 hours and check time shown); general norm for substantiation | "only $39 (was $120, 67% OFF!!) - LOWEST PRICE EVER, nobody beats this!" shows a price with no check time (you saw it "this morning", no screenshot), an unproven "was" price (listing page only, no price history), and absolute claims with no source. | "Listed at $39 when I checked at [date/time you checked]. The listing page showed $120 as the earlier price." |
| 3 | Unverified or expired deal claims | FIX | General norm | "the coupon ends tonight" conflicts with your note that coupon expiry is unknown; "coupon works, I used it yesterday" gives no expiry and no check time that is still current. | "Coupon [add coupon details]: last used [date/time you checked]; expiry [confirm before posting, remove if unknown]." |
| 4 | Attribution-window statements | FIX | Program text (cookie window 24 hours from click) | "Buy within 24 hours through my link and I get credit" states how long a click counts, and "add it to your cart now and finish the order next week, my link will still work for you" encourages gaming attribution and contradicts the 24-hour window. | Remove both sentences. No replacement line needed. |
| 5 | Prohibited sharing channels | FIX | Program text (no email, no private messaging groups; public web pages and public social posts allowed) | You plan to post in a "Hot Deals" messaging-app group (about 400 members) and "a copy in my Friday email newsletter"; both are forbidden channels for links under the supplied text. | Publish on a public web page or public social post instead; do not send these links in the group or the newsletter. |
| 6 | Generic placeholder product titles | FIX | General norm | "[Product Name]" is a template leftover, and "Item 88213 - Home & Garden" is an auto-filled string; a reader cannot tell what they are clicking. | "[ADD REAL PRODUCT NAME]" for each link |
| 7 | Urgency / scarcity claims | FIX | General norm | "Only 3 left in stock and the coupon ends tonight, so hurry!" and "so don't wait" have no verified source or time; you supplied no stock check. | Remove the stock-count and "ends tonight" wording. Add a dated claim only if you have evidence: "Stock and coupon status as of [date/time you checked]." |

## Revised draft

Assumes a public web page (the draft is not rewritten for the messaging group or the email newsletter).

[ADD REAL PRODUCT NAME]: listed at $39 when I checked at [date/time you checked]. The listing page showed $120 as the earlier price.

## Questions to resolve NEEDS_INFO

None; no item is NEEDS_INFO. To make items 2, 3 and 7 pass after the edit you will need: a price re-check within 24 hours with the time shown, the coupon's real expiry, and a stock check if you want any availability wording.

## Sources

User-supplied policy text (pasted partner dashboard excerpt). Nothing fetched.

This is a pre-publish checklist, not legal advice or a program decision. Re-run after you edit the post.

Use cases

  • Checking an affiliate disclosure before posting a deal on social media or a blog
  • Can I say "lowest price" or "50% off" in an Amazon Associates or Coupang Partners post?
  • Checking whether a coupon or deal post is stale before publishing
  • Finding out if a messaging group or email newsletter is allowed for affiliate links under the program policy

FAQ

Does it guarantee my account stays in good standing? No. Only the affiliate program decides; this is a checklist review.

Is it legal advice? No. It says so at the top of every output and does not assert any country's law without a fetched source.

Does it know the program's rules? Only what you paste or what the agent fetches from the program's own pages; anything else is marked "not re-verified" or NEEDS_INFO.

Will it check the live price or stock? Not unless it can open the product page, and then it states when. Otherwise price and stock claims are NEEDS_INFO.
