Gradient Shell Gyroid TPMS

Gradient Shell Gyroid TPMS

This Skill standardizes the TPMS/Gyroid modeling workflow into a reusable process: it controls wall thickness via physical thickness rather than isosurface constants, supports gradients (e.g., thicker at the bottom, thinner at the top), enables STL and volumetric data export and trimesh quality checks, and provides parameter recommendations for CAD/FEA delivery.

Gradient Gyroid TPMS

A Codex Skill for generating, inspecting, and exporting Gyroid/TPMS shells with physical thickness gradients.

Use Cases

  • Designing Gyroid or related TPMS shell structures with varying wall thicknesses (thicker at the bottom, thinner at the top)
  • Controlling wall thickness based on actual physical dimensions, rather than confusing the isosurface constant with thickness
  • Exporting STL files, volumetric NPZ data, and preview images for CAD inspection, nTop workflows, or finite element pre-processing
  • Using ‘trimesh’ to verify connectivity, winding order, boundaries, and bounding box dimensions

Core Capabilities

  • Supports various TPMS surfaces such as Gyroid, P, IWP, and Diamond
  • Supports gradients along the vertical axis (e.g., linear, power-law, diffusion)
  • Distinguishes between mid-surface, signed distance, and physical thickness
  • Provides recommended commands, parameter suggestions, and acceptance criteria

Typical Inputs

Users can specify specimen dimensions, number of unit cells, wall thicknesses at the top and bottom ends, gradient mode, resolution, and export paths.

Typical Outputs

The Skill guides the generation of STL, NPZ, and PNG files and recommends inspecting results using metrics such as watertightness, winding consistency, body count, component analysis, and bounding box dimensions/extents.
