If something goes wrong, would your household hold up?

Everyone has heard "keep six months of expenses." The real questions are harder: if the highest earner loses their job, how many months until you're forced to sell investments — maybe in a falling market? If your mortgage rate rises two points, is there still money left each month? Banks stress-test themselves every year. This tool applies the same method to your household.

What you get

What you get

  • Seven month-by-month scenarios: job loss, pay cut, rate hike, surprise expense, inflation, and a combined "job loss + market crash + rate hike" case.
  • Breaking points: the longest job loss, deepest income drop and biggest rate rise you can absorb — with cash only, and with investments sold.
  • Nine household ratios with traffic lights: emergency fund, savings rate, debt-to-income, housing burden, income concentration, high-interest debt and more.
  • Prioritized action plan: which debt to clear first, how big the emergency-fund gap is, and how much to save each month.

Seven scenarios

Action plan

Who it's for

Families with a mortgage or car loan, single-income households, freelancers with uneven income, and anyone worried about layoffs or rate hikes. Any country; defaults are labeled when you skip a number.

How to use

  1. Download from Capafy — you get a zip file (no need to unzip).
  2. In Claude, turn on code execution, then upload the zip under Settings → Skills. (Claude Code users: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/.)
  3. Describe your situation in plain English. Claude asks for the numbers it needs, runs the model, and walks you through the results.

Output and language

Claude explains the results in your language. The Excel workbook and written report are currently labeled in Traditional Chinese; English labels are planned for a future version.

Privacy

Runs locally in your own Claude environment. No external connections, no API keys, and your numbers never leave your machine.

Requirements

A Claude environment that can run Python (e.g. Claude Code, or Claude with code execution enabled). Uses openpyxl; Claude can install it on first run.
