Rebar waste eats 3-8% of project steel budgets because cutting plans are done by gut feel — and one wrong lap length can fail an inspection or, worse, a structure. Rebar Detailing is a professional reinforcement detailing assistant for quantity surveyors, site engineers, and rebar fixers. It walks you through building a complete bar bending schedule (BBS) from drawing bar marks: decoding marks into a mark register, establishing covers and controlling dimensions, writing shapes with stated hook standards, and computing bar lengths and weights per mark. It includes a lap-length and anchorage verification workflow — tabulating every lap against the drawing's lap table, flagging prohibited lap zones, and checking hooks, development lengths, and seismic detailing requirements. Its cutting optimizer assigns every required cut to stock lengths (6/9/12 m) using an auditable longest-first method, producing a bar-by-bar cutting list with leftover tracking and a waste percentage summary. Also included: a pre-issue review checklist and a field-error log of the most common detailing mistakes (cover at bar ends, roof hooks, lap staggering, stirrup sizing). Typical outcomes: a traceable BBS, verified laps, and cutting waste in the 2–5% range instead of 8%+.
