YouTube Monetization Guard

Automatic compliance auditor for YouTube's 2025/2026 monetization policies. Appends a 0–10 demonetization risk score after any YouTube script, niche research, or video-idea brainstorm — without being asked.

In January 2026, YouTube terminated 16 channels with a combined 4.7 billion views under the renewed Inauthentic Content Policy. Faceless, automated, or AI-assisted channels face heightened scrutiny. This skill flags the risk signals before upload, not after the strike.

What it does

Every time you generate, write, or review:

  • a YouTube long-form or Shorts script,
  • niche/sub-niche research or recommendations,
  • a video idea/title/concept brainstorm,

the skill evaluates it against 7 risk dimensions and appends a structured audit report after your deliverable — never instead of it.

The 7 risk dimensions

# Dimension What it checks
1 Authenticity / Inauthentic Content Repeatable template vs. genuine editorial judgment
2 AI Disclosure Synthetic narration/visuals and whether the "Altered Content" toggle is required
3 Misleading Content False or unverifiable claims about real people, events, places
4 Child Safety Any risk involving real or fictional minors
5 Advertiser-Friendliness Violence, sexual content, controversy, hate speech
6 Originality Real differentiation vs. clone of an existing formula
7 AI Slop signals Static slideshow, identical structure/music/shots across videos

Each dimension is rated ✅ Safe / ⚠️ Caution / 🔴 Critical, then scored: base 10, minus per-signal weights, plus a capped mitigation bonus, with hard caps (e.g., any Child Safety 🔴 caps the score at 1; 3+ 🔴 anywhere caps at 4).

Example input → output

Input prompt:

"Write a 12-minute script about how the 1986 Chernobyl exclusion zone became one of Europe's densest wildlife reserves. I'll cite the 2015 Deryabina Current Biology census and the 2019 UNEP report, narrate it in my own voice, and use licensed documentary footage plus two AI-generated maps. I'll enable the Altered Content toggle."

Output: the full 12-minute script, followed automatically by:

## 🛡️ YouTube Monetization Audit

**Artifact type:** Long-form script (12 min)
**Niche/channel:** Science/ecology documentary, EN
**Pipeline:** Human (own narration, licensed footage) + two AI-generated maps, disclosed

### Analysis by dimension
| # | Dimension | Status | Observation |
|---|----------|--------|------------|
| 1 | Authenticity | ✅ | Named primary sources, specific thesis |
| 2 | AI Disclosure | ✅ | Toggle planned, AI limited to 2 labeled maps |
| 3 | Misleading Content | ⚠️ | Recovery claims must stay inside cited data |
| 4 | Child Safety | ✅ | No relevant elements |
| 5 | Advertiser-Friendliness | ⚠️ | Nuclear-disaster framing can draw review |
| 6 | Originality | ✅ | Ecology angle vs. usual disaster retelling |
| 7 | AI Slop signals | ✅ | Own voice, licensed footage |

### 🎯 Demonetization risk score: **9/10**
Minimal risk. Publish with the attribution and thumbnail adjustments noted above.

A risky prompt (e.g., a faceless Shorts channel about a living celebrity's "hidden private life," cloned anchor voice, undisclosed AI footage) instead scores 0/10, with the report explaining exactly which policy each red flag violates and what would need to change to make it publishable.

Score reading table

Score Meaning Action
0-2 Very high risk — demonetization/termination likely Do not publish
3-4 High risk — yellow icon or strike likely Rework before publishing
5-6 Moderate risk — passes but vulnerable Apply mitigations
7-8 Low risk Publish with minor adjustments
9-10 Minimal risk Publish with confidence

Why it's useful

  • Specific, not generic. Points to the concrete signal ("structure identical to the 16 channels terminated in January 2026"), not vague warnings.
  • Never blocks the deliverable. You always get the script/research/brainstorm you asked for — the audit is appended, not a gate.
  • No fabricated rules. Grounded in documented 2025/2026 YouTube policies (Inauthentic Content, AI Disclosure, Misleading Content, Advertiser-Friendly Guidelines). If something isn't covered, it says so.
  • Honest on both ends. Genuinely safe content gets a 9-10 with no invented problems; clear AI slop gets a 1-2 with no softening.

FAQ

Does it work in any language or niche?
Yes — paleontology, mythology, true crime, horror, dark history, any language. The score reflects the content's risk pattern, not the topic itself.

Does using AI automatically lower the score?
No. The policy doesn't ban AI, it bans undisclosed or low-effort mass production. A disclosed, sourced, editorially distinct AI-assisted video can score 9-10; an undisclosed daily-template AI channel scores near 0.

Can I turn the audit off?
No — it's designed to run automatically on every qualifying request, by design, so risk is never missed because someone forgot to ask.

What if my request is borderline (e.g., "improve this paragraph of my script")?
The skill applies itself when in doubt. The cost of an extra audit is low; the cost of missing one is a demonetized channel.
